Terms and Conditions

UDU reserves the right to cancel or change tours. A liability waiver must be signed upon departure.

Fitness requirements

UDU's tours may be challenging and physically demanding for some people. It is therefore important that passengers have a reasonable level of fitness. Please take note of the distance and difficulty of each tour. Tours are modified to suit the ability of each group, if you are aged 15-65 and you are not unfit or don't have any serious health problems, there should be no difficulties. If you have any doubts, please call UDU on 0448 388 687 prior to travel.

1 Day Royal National Park Eco-tour: The longest bushwalk is a minimum of 1500 metres (just less than 1 mile) along a dirt track, but could be further depending on the day/group.

Moonwalk: The shortest bushwalk is a minimum of 2500 metres along a dirt track, however this is done at night/twilight, over rough terrain, where visibility is often reduced.

Twilight Discovery: This is done at night in a variety of terrains and environments. It usually isn't very physically demanding, but care is required.

Children

Children aged 2-5 are not permitted to travel with UDU (0-2 depends on tour). Children aged 6-15 (inclusive) must be accompanied by an adult and must be capable of completing the tour with minimal assistance from UDU staff. This is up to the discretion of UDU staff. For Moonwalks, the minimum age is usually 12.

Weather Conditions

UDU does not take any responsibility for the weather, or outcomes that result from it. Day tours will usually always operate in all conditions. Your guide will do their best to ensure you have a great time, but its also recommended that you prepare accordingly and bring a sense of adventure. Normal cancellation/transfer fees and conditions apply if you choose to change your plan based on the weather.

However, UDU also reserves the right to cancel or amend tours due to adverse weather conditions.  This is most commonly the case for Moonwalks and Night tours. Refunds are not offered if a tour is cancelled/post-poned due to weather. If a tour is cancelled due to weather, and you are unable to re-schedule a date, you are entitled to a 50% refund. If you are booked on for a tour and it is cancelled by UDU three times or more due to bad weather, you are entitled to a refund 100% refund (minus any applicable costs).

No show fee

Day Tours & Twilight Discovery: If not present for the booked departure pax will be charged a $25 'no show' fee, paid the morning of the rebooked departure; if pax does not travel, a cancellation fee will be charged (see below). Moonwalks: $50 'no show' fee.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation fee for day tours: 72 Hours - 30 Days: 30% of Fare, 24 Hours - 72 Hours: 50% of Fare, within 24 Hours: 100% of Fare. Moonwalks and Twilight discovery cannot be cancelled, but can be transferred (as below)

Transferring, exchanging

You are able to transfer, on sell, or exchange your booking (for a different UDU experience) for no extra cost. Over 7 days notice must be given when changing the date of a booking.

Conditions of travel

Understand Down Under (UDU) reserves the right to alter the route or itinerary of any of its tours and arrange alternative transport carriers to those advertised if necessary. No refunds will be given in these circumstances or in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of a tour resulting from any cause including severe weather conditions. UDU cannot guarantee pick-up or drop-off times and is not liable for passenger failure to connect with other services. UDU accepts no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, personal belongings or baggage.

Liability

Whilst UDU makes every effort to safeguard its clients, UDU cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to events which are beyond its control. Passengers should note that adventure travel/ecotourism involves a higher than normal risk and a signed release will be required from all participants before tour departure. Furthermore, tours may include the services of transport providers and other operators, and UDU cannot be held responsible or liable for these.

Confirmation

Confirmation and final numbers by an ITO/wholesaler must be completed 7 days prior to travel

Payment

Due within 14 days of invoice. Monthly interest of 5% charged on outstanding invoices. Credit check and credit application form may be required.
